Identity Verification for Reviewers
A "Verified User" badge indicates that a reviewer has confirmed their identity through a secure, third-party verification process. Here's everything you need to know.
When you see the Verified User badge on a review, it means:
Real Person
The reviewer is a verified real person
Valid ID
They provided a government-issued ID
Identity Match
Their identity matches their account
Selfie Verification
Live selfie matches their ID photo
It's important to understand what the Verified User badge does not guarantee:
Review Accuracy
The badge does not verify that the review content is accurate or truthful
Service Usage
It does not confirm they actually used the business's services
Opinion Validity
It does not validate their opinion or judgment
Verified by Stripe
Identity verification is handled entirely by Stripe, a trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide.
We Never See Your Documents
AutiVex does NOT receive, store, or have access to your identity documents, photos, or personal information from the verification process.
Only Status is Stored
We only receive a simple pass/fail result and a reference token. Your actual identity details (address, ID number, etc.) are never shared with us.
Businesses Cannot See Your ID
Businesses only see that you are verified—they cannot access any of your identity documents or personal information.
Identity verification is valid for 2 years from the date of verification. After this period, you may choose to re-verify if you wish to continue displaying the Verified User badge on your reviews.
We'll send you a reminder before your verification expires so you have time to re-verify without any interruption to your badge display.
Your Badge is Public
The "Verified User" badge appears publicly on all your reviews, indicating to others that your identity has been verified.
Your Identity Stays Private
Your actual identity details (name from ID, address, ID number) are never shown to anyone—not businesses, not other users, not even AutiVex.
Go to Your Profile
Navigate to your profile page and find the "Identity Verification" section.
Click "Verify My Identity"
You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure verification portal.
Provide Your ID
Take a photo of a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, passport, or ID card).
Take a Selfie
A live selfie is matched against your ID photo to confirm you're the same person.
Badge Appears Instantly
Once verified, all your reviews will immediately display the Verified User badge.
To maintain review quality, we may ask a few quick questions when you submit a review. This is not a punishment—it's our way of ensuring reviews come from real customers.
Low-risk reviews
Published immediately without additional steps.
Quick verification
Answer 2-3 simple questions about your experience (e.g., "When did you visit?").
Verified users skip this
If you've verified your identity, you can bypass challenge questions entirely.
Note: We make exceptions for travelers, expats, and cross-border services. VPN users from regions where VPNs are common receive more lenient treatment.
